empowering social success with PEERS

The Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS®) is a manualized, evidence-based intervention developed by Dr. Elizabeth Laugeson at UCLA.

The program has been implemented in over 80 countries worldwide.

It is an evidence-based social skills training intervention for youth, adolescents and young adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The focus of the program is to provide motivated participants with ecologically valid social skills required to initiate and maintain friendships. Through role playing, homework components, and various activities, participants are encouraged to practice, enhance, and generalize their skills.

the importance of caregiver participation

We understand that caregiver participation can sound daunting and difficult to squeeze into your busy schedule.

We want to make the most out of your valuable time and wouldn't ask you to be here if it wasn't worth it! The research indicates that caregiver participation is essential to the success and longevity of the adolescent or young adults' skills.

After all you are their most valuable social coach. And we want to ensure you feel best equipped.

Because our kids were close in age, it was really great. It was also a relief to talk with parents that understood autism and shared the ups and downs. We would love hearing how one of our children had a successful get together or chatted with someone new at school. We also empathized when a get together didn't always go as planned and brainstormed ways to make it better next time.
